President's Message

80th Annual General Body Meeting

PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Dear Member,

Once again it gives me great pleasure to address you on behalf of the Managing Committee and myself. It is even more so on this occasion as this Managing Committee has completed a tenure of 5 years without change.

When this Committee was elected 5 years ago, it had a vision to take the Club to international standards and make it the premier civilian equestrian and polo club in India. I dare say that we have achieved this vision. Today our Club is clearly the number one civilian equestrian and polo club in India with facilities which no other civilian club in India can match. Our all-weather show jumping and dressage arena is rated as the best in India and on par with any such riding arena in the world. Over the past few years, we have had several international juries present at our Club to judge dressage and show jumping competitions. All of them have loved our facilities and opined that our riding arenas are on par with the best in the world.

Due to the growth of equestrian sport in Mumbai, we have had to secure more stables from the RWITC who graciously acceded to our request. There are presently 213 horses stabled at the ARC and RWITC stables. Of these there are approximately 50 warm blood horses imported from Europe. Polo is also growing and we have several new polo players at the Club. There is still a demand for more stables. This is a clear indication that equestrian sport and polo have grown and are still growing and will continue to grow in Mumbai thanks to our Club.

Without saying anything more I would now like to present to you the report card of this Managing Committee in terms of the main events conducted and main items of infrastructure added during the past 5 years.

We have also continued to add to our infrastructure e.g. we have ordered an ambulance of our own. We are also in the process of acquiring more equipment for ground and stable maintainance.

As before we continue to strive towards excellence and to make our Club a better place for members and horses.

Like I have said in the past none of this would have been possible without your love and support and I look forward to your continued love and support.

I would also be failing in my duty if I didn’t profusely thank our Club staff for their dedication to their jobs and their complete support. Each one of them has also taken great pride in bringing the Club to where it is today. My personal thanks to each of them.

Lastly, I would also like to thank RWITC, its Committee, officials and staff for supporting us throughout this period of five years.

I look forward to seeing you at the AGM on 14th September 2023.

Warm regards,
